U-96 was a Type VIIC U-Boot of the Kriegsmarines. Her Keel was laid down September 16th 1939. Germamiaweft of Keil. She was commissioned September 14th 1940 with Kapitanlenutant Heinrich Lehmann-Wellenbrock in comand. U-96 was sunk by US Bombs at Welhelmshaven March 30th 1945 while her Kaptain and her crew had a diffucult time at sea, they brought her home during the their homecoming they where hit by US Bombs and she was sunk in her U-boot pen.
